I got the chance to roam around Hongkong twice. And on my second visit, I never missed the chance to get up close to my favorite celebrities. Though the experience with them is "so close yet so far", you will still feel the excitement and goosebumps getting close to the personalities you just see in TV and books. Its an ultimate celebrity fun day out!
It's 25 degrees on Beijing and the sun is at its peak. A very fine day for strolling and finding sights inside China. And since the zoo is just a few stations away, I set my stuff ready for another adventure! The Beijing Zoo is a zoological park in Beijing, China. Located in the Xicheng District, the zoo occupies an area of 89 hectares (220 acres), including 5.6 hectares (14 acres) hectares of lakes and ponds. It is one of the oldest zoos in China and has one of the largest animal collections in the country. The zoo and its aquarium has over 450 species of land animals and over 500 species of marine animals. In all, it is home to 14,500 animals. More than six million visitors come to the zoo each year. The zoo was founded in 1906 during the late Qing Dynasty. Like many of Beijing's parks, the zoo's grounds resemble classical Chinese gardens, with flower beds amidst natural scenery, including dense groves of trees, stretches of meadows, small streams and rivers, lotus pools and hills dotted with pavilions and historical buildings. At the end of the day, what matters most is what you have experienced. . and don't forget the pictures of course! Ancient. Historic. Magic. Its grandeur and beauty makes me wonder how the people of the ancient times manage to build the wall brick by brick. Only the wall knows. Only the wall witnessed. I felt the texture of the bricks, most of them faded, changed by the elements of the earth since 220-206 BC. Millions have already stepped on the place that I'm standing in. Before the walls are stained with bloody memories, but now, it brings good memories to the people. Like a time machine, it values the connection of the past and the present. Climbing the Great Wall has always been my dream. And the moment I came to Beijing, I know, my dream is just within my reach(just an hour away). 2. Tiring. Maybe I just lack exercise. But almost all of the way up are very steep. 3. Fulfilling - This is my personal shot when I climbed up the Beacon. The Great Wall is circled around Beijing, so if I kept going, it would take me years to reach the finish line. Happy Me. Dream Come True number 1 is accomplished. :d
Thailand - one of the nice places I've ever been. I could describe it using all the clichés. But I could summarize the reasons from millions to three, Unique, Hospitable and Artistic. Once you're there, you could really say - This is Thailand! And since I only have 2 days, I could spend even my sleeping time roaming around Thailand! From Beijing, our plane departed at 5:00am. According to our itinerary flight from Beijing to Thailand takes 4 hours. While flight from Thailand to Beiijing takes 6 hours. Whoah! I was confused at first, but its actually possible when timezone changes. Well, didn't see that coming. 9:00am no delay, Touchdown Suvarnabhumi Airport. My friend Jack got the benefit of not holding the camera. 10am, we arrived at Omni Hotel located 69 Sukhumvit Soi 4 (Soi Nana) | Klongtoey, Bangkok 10110, Thailand (Pomprab). Just take a taxi from the airport. Thai taxi drivers are kind and knows how to speak english, although not fluently, drivers can still lead you to the right place. Hora! This room is big enough for my friend Guan to do her tumblings and jumpings. Expense: Taxi - 250 baht Hotel - 2000 bhat/pax 11:00am, the food came quickly enough to placate our rumbling bellies. We tried authentic Thai foods namely, vegetables in spicy oyster sauce, spicy garlic squid and spicy pork in coconut cream. Hmm, they love spicy foods that much, dont they? The foods are unique and fantastic in taste. And because we are hungry we ate almost 10 cups of rice. Imagine, we only spent 1000 baht for all of these plus 4 fruit shakes and softdrinks. Yummy and cheap foods are just around, thanks SWAN RESTAURANT AND BEER for the yummy lunch. Expense: Lunch 1000 baht 1:00pm, Once upon a time, James bond came to Thailand. Being chased by his enemies, he rode a fast boat and crossed Chao Phraya river. I wanna know how fast the boat can go and how it feels to pass through Chao Phraya, so I did what bond did(bullet dodge and action docks not included)! Expense Chao Phraya River tour - 350 baht/pax 3:00pm, Commercial break. The best Naicha I ever tasted. Bust sadly, only in Thailand. :(( Expense: Naicha 35 baht 5:30pm, We arrived at Thailands most famous show "Siam Niramit". The show was awarded by Guinness World of Records as the world's highest stage. Expense: Siam Niramit - 2200 baht (we got a discounted price because we booked online 3 days before) This is my 3rd dream come true! to Ride an Elephant. i feel like a princess even just for 15 minutes :D . . Expense: Ride an Elephant - 100 baht Occupying a good half of the Siam Niramit complex, the Thai village presents convincing replicas of Thai-style houses (wooden and raised on posts) from the north to south. Each village demonstrates the making of its specialties - be it food (rice pudding, roasted rice with sweet coconut and grilled omelet) or handicrafts (silk, shadow puppets, and batik). The man standing on the right made us ride the boat for free. Because of him, I learned how to say Thank you in Thai "ขอบคุณ"(khob-kun-Ka) Part of the the ticket fee is a dinner buffet before the show starts. Assorted foods are served, be it Authentic Thai food or western food. Some of the theater's cast entertain the guest with their Thai dance! 9:30pm. The Show is over. But words are really not enough to describe how spectacular Siam Niramit is. All I can say is, I got more than what I payed for this Show. Day 2, Oh Picturesque! They said you haven't really been to Thailand if you didn't visit The Grand Palace. Its like being in a city of gold. There is a known existing scam outside the walls of Grand Palace. They usually target tourist. When somebody tells you that Grand Palace is close that day because of reasons like, there's a festival, there's a mass ongoing and nobody can come inside, etc. Do not believe them. They will just offer you a tour that will cost you more. Smile and say no. Then find the Main Entrance of the Grand Palace(there is only one entry gate).
