Almost all of my friends knew that I love to travel. If I were to choose between buying a new gadget or travel, I will choose the latter. So the moment I came to Japan, I made it my goal to visit every place, eat their specialty foods and experience every season. Just last week I started my adventure slowly but surely. Im grateful that I have friends that share the same interest as mine. So I never travelled alone.
It was already 11am in the morning when I and my friend ride our shinkansen from Tokyo - Kyoto (did you noticed how they interchanged those syllables). We arrived in Kyoto almost 2:00 in the afternoon. Normally the travel time is 8hours by local bus, but since were riding the bullet train, it only took us more than 2hours.

When we arrived in Kyoto, I was amazed by the architectural design of the station. The signage, roof and the crowd feels like an airport.
Kyoto is known for their holy temples. These temples are preserved for a very long time that some of its materials are replaced with new. But the chills still remain. The solemnity of the place and how the people treat their place of worship with utmost respect is admirable. We first visited Sanjusangendo. A home to 1001 statues of Kannon. Since the inside is sacred, photos are not allowed. But the outside landscape and view is equally beautiful.
Sanjuusangendo: Hakubutsukan-Sanjusangendo-mae bus stop (10 minutes, 230 yen from Kyoto Station by bus numbers 100, 206 or 208)
Entrance Fee: 600 yen

Fushimi Inari Shrine
This place is known for its thousands of Tori gates. They believe these gates are the way from the human world to the spiritual world.
Fushimi Inari Shrine: located just outside JR Inari Station, the second station from Kyoto Station along the JR Nara Line (5 minutes, 140 yen one way from Kyoto Station, not served by rapid trains).
So thats it for now. I know there's still a lot to explore in Kyoto. Because of its beauty, its has been saved from the A-bomb. Im surely coming back.
